View On Black Do you belive in good or bad luck 'omens'? If so, here's one for you. This is a photograph of Venus transiting our sun. The transit event occurs in pairs a little more than a century apart. The last time it happened in our lifetimes was 2004, just before the Tsunami in Indonesia. It won't happen again for something like 105 1/2 years from now. So why am I posting this image? For one, I think it's kind of interesting when things like this happen. But the real reason was because it took a lot of effort to learn how to take a picture of the sun with a digital SLR. Chopper Project
This is the mill that is making my triple trees, head set and brackets for my chopper. I took this shot a little while ago for work as a possible catologue shot. The frame is almost complete just waiting for the brackets for the rear axle to be milled then i'll weld them on. Then i can mount the rear wheel, which will enable me to fit a fixed fender and position the seat. I lost the drawing i had, but i'll try get another shot uploaded this week that gives a better idea of how it will look ;-) Have a great week !!

Underwater Missions Unit Transfers Equipment Using Special "Lifting-Bags"
November 2, 2011 They navigate, weld, repair, salvage, take photos and even dispose bombs, all underwater! Pictured above are the Underwater Missions Unit, the Israeli Navy's divers unit. They know how to perform intricate tasks, from underwater welding to salvaging entire ships from the depths of the sea. A professional diver can dive to a remarkable depth of 90 meters! The divers in the picture above are using a lifting-bag: an air-tight bag with straps that's used for transferring equipment underwater. This is a common method of transferring underwater equipment both in the Israeli navy, and outside it as well. Featured as Photo of the Day on November 2, 2011.
