The cram that gave this book its title was inspired by a survey initiated in the '70s by Chou EnLai as he was dying of cancer. Ninety-six% of the residents (880 million people) participated in 2,400 counties in China. The survey included death rates for four dozen rare diseases including 12 different kinds of cancers. The resulting atlas implied that cancer was a disease of environmental conditions and lifestyle degree than genetics. The counties with the highest occurrences of some cancers were 100 times greater than in counties with the lowest occurrences. In the '80s, to further look at these results, the author, T. Colin Campbell, a nutritional biochemist at Cornell University, and a handful of other notable scientists from both the United States and China, embarked on an in profundity study of the dietary habits of the Chinese in correlation with disease. But I soup they were a healthy sort of treat. 2 1/2 CUPS WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY FLOUR (SIFTED) 1 TSP ALUMINUM Cost-free BAKING POWDER 1 TSP BAKING SODA 3/4 TSP SEA SALT 1/3 CUP OLIVE OIL (FOR IT'S HEALTHY MONOSATURATED FAT AND OMEGA-3S) 1/3 CUP NON SWEETENED APPLESAUCE 1/3 CUP HONEY 2/3 CUP OF SPLENDA (HEALTHLY Manifestation = NATURAL CANE SUGAR INSTEAD) 1/2 CUP SILKEN TOFU 1/2 BANANA 1 TSP CORNSTARCH 2 TBSP VANILLA Glean 2 CUPS ROLLED OATS 8 TBSP ORGANIC VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHIPS Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
