Sydney to Byron — Surry Hills, Australia

We headed out to explore the city. The weather was similar to a crowthorne day in mid March - shite. We picked up a free burger from a hellamans promotion (for which we had to take the shocking picture below). Then we headed to meet Ingall, who was stopping over in Sydney on his way to rugby camp in NZ. We raided his mini bar and then all went off to see the sights, the harbour bridge and the space ship (opera house). Jack booked to come back and see us in 3 weeks for 10 days which is gonna be fun. We then headed to a few different bars. In the afternoon we headed to Bondi. The surf didn't disappoint and we were in the waves bodysurfing for hours before heading to Mexican bar El Loca in the evening to meet Rory's cousins Jimmy and Sarah. They kindly bought us a few drinks and some chips - which were eaten in 3 minutes flat as all we had eaten was a piece of fruit each all day (proper budgeting). Really hot day again. We were going to go the races but instead did the Bondi to Bronte walk. Rip Current was quite strong at tamarama beach but we swam at bronte. Parsons is the panorama specialist for the trip so he took some good shots for us. Some of the houses between Bondi and Bronte were amazing and we gazed longingly at the luxury we could no longer access. We also purchased a rugby ball today - a vital piece of kit for the whole trip which is already getting excellent usage by all the lads. Being sensible we decided to have a night off going out and just had a couple of beers in a very swanky bar by the harbour. Day 12 - cricket at the SCG today. Breakfast at jimmy and Sarah's of bacon rolls and beers before heading in to the ground. David warner hit a sensational hundred yet Steve smith's dismissal for 49 cost a few of the boys some money in the bookies who had bet on him reaching 50. Australia cruised the game and we headed back to the city to a nightclub in the harbour. Day 13 - We headed over to Manly where Orch had worked previously at the restaurant. Phil took us for a few pints which was lovely and then we went to Manly beach. It's definitely a suburb we'd all want to live in if we lived in Sydney, just a 18 minute ferry from the city. Pictures below is the 4th biggest cruise ship in the world, the Ovation of the Seas, moored in Sydney Harbour. There were a few bluebottles in the sea and the surf wasn't great but we played with the ball for a few hours. Sushi in Aus is so cheap and fresh so we've been eating a lot of that as well as the odd piece of fruit to keep ourselves going. We met Phil at the opera house bar, it was a delight to be back on the Peronis rather than our now staple box wine. Later that evening we went to a burger joint with Phil which was fantastic. Day 14 - We went to Coogee beach. There was a heatwave in Sydney today and it reached 40 degrees. Orch found us a 3 dollar taco joint which was excellent, we've become serious bargain hunters. After lunch a few of us checked out the Anzac memorial and St Mary's Cathedral, both of which were impressive pieces of architecture (see below). We said goodbye to Luca who we won't see for 3 months, it was great for him to be able to join in on our trip for a bit. Later, amidst monsoon like rain we dashed across Sydney to catch our greyhound bus to Byron Bay. We're all keen to get moving up the coast and into the smaller beach towns where we're more likely to meet younger kids like us. Lots of people in the hostels are like 28 and working in the cities. The bus is 12 hours long but fairly comfy seats and wifi, excitement is building for Australia Day on the 26th. ✋. Day 15 -. We arrived to a scorcher of a day in Byron bay. There are plenty of meal deals about to take advantage of. As we were too early to check in to the hostel we took advantage of a 7. 50 dollars bacon and egg roll and coffee. We're getting the hang of this budgeting system. We were quite excited for the hostel as it was the one the inbetweeners were in, however on arrival we were somewhat alarmed by the number of long haired weirdo hippies who appeared to have been living there for centuries. We dropped our bags and headed to the beach fairly. Source: TravelPod.com TravelStream™ — Recent Entries at TravelPod.com

I am informing an entire state that I did its girlfriend! Really, this is a receipt from a local sushi place. I ordered the 'Alaska' roll and my husband ordered one called "I Did Your Girlfriend". Awesome names. I will post a review soon, but the restaurant is Sushi Loca in northwest Las Vegas. It's so nice to find humor in little everyday things!
