Stone of Truth by Buy.com (dba Rakuten.com Shopping)

A stoma-watering way to break free from anti-gluten hysteria and enjoy great grains again Is wheat really the new asbestos? Does eating it in any form liability your health and impair your brain functions? That?s the dire message from mega-sellers likeGrain Brain and Wheat Belly, and that?s why the gluten-free effort now reaps billions of dollars every year. But when his wife surprises him by suddenly eliminating gluten from her diet, investigative journalist Stephen Yafa takes that as an spur to delve deep into this latest food fad. He comes away many months later with a completely different conclusion: whole wheat and other strong grains, he discovers, extend our lifespan and lower the risk of serious heart disease. In fact, they?re one of the best sources of fiber needed to cater our probiotic gut bacteria. But what about Big Bad Gluten? Scientists who run clinical studies show him how the negative effects of wheat gluten can be neutralized for almost all of us. When wheat is correctly processed including long fermentation, they say, that method cuts gluten down to size. Literally. Natural fermentation breaks down these bulky proteins into wee fragments for easy digestion, while slowing the conversion rate of starch to sugar. Grain of Truth brings this important new intelligence into a debate dominated by alarmist anti-wheat authors who leave out the most crucial point?it?s the processing method, not the wheat issue itself, that makes all the difference! By helping us to find the healthiest sources of artisan-made, long-fermented whole grain, Yafa gives us back our enjoyable daily bread?the crunchy, chewy, real thing. If you?ve been afraid to eat wheat, he shows you a way to refresh your palate and befriend your gut without respect. Separating fact from fad, Yafa challenges many common myths: a gluten-free diet doesn?t lead to weight loss f

Why a gluten-free diet is not for everybody - Jakarta Post

A gluten-free diet is a diet where gluten is not included in daily meals. Gluten itself is a type of protein found in seeds, primarily wheat, rye and barley. In processed products, gluten can help the rising process of bread and give it a chewy texture. Recently, the gluten-free diet has become a trend due to claims about its health benefits. However, is such a diet good for everybody. Gluten-free diet for celiac disease sufferers. The gluten-free diet is primarily intended for those who suffer from celiac disease , which is a condition where the body cannot digest gluten contained in food. Due to its indigestible manner, the body interprets gluten as a threat and then produces an antibody that backfires to the small intestinal lining, resulting in swelling and damage in the small intestinal lining tissues. Celiac disease sufferers usually also experience diarrhea, anemia, pain in the bones and even patches on the skin. Celiac disease attacks people of various ages and usually happens without special symptoms. Treatment that can decrease the symptoms of celiac disease is the one and only gluten free diet. Celiac disease sufferers must avoid gluten containing foods. The amount of gluten contained does not matter because a small amount of gluten can trigger the immune system to attack the intestinal lining. Gluten-free diet for autism sufferers. Aside for celiac disease sufferers, gluten-free diet can also be addressed to those with autism spectrum disorder sufferers or autism. Autism sufferers usually adopt a Gluten Free Casein Free (GFCF) diet, which eliminates all gluten and casein contained in their daily meals. For autism sufferers, gluten and casein that goes into the body cannot be digested thoroughly, which will then be interpreted as a hostile component by the brain. By eliminating gluten and casein, we can expect some cognitive enhancement in autism sufferers. Gluten-free diet for non-celiac gluten sensitivity sufferers. There are some people who are sensitive to gluten contained in foods. Further examination is required to determine whether a person suffers from celiac disease, sensitive to gluten, or just allergic to wheat. Even though the symptoms are more or less the same ( diarhea , stomachache, and other symptoms appearing around a few hours to a few days post gluten consumption), the impact inflicted is not as bad as celiac disease. Wheat Belly
Wheat Belly
Author, William Davis, is a preventative cardiologist who is also diabetic. And using his glucose meter, he found that whole wheat bread spiked his sugars beyond expectations just as I was surprised to find. In fact it increased blood sugars more than table sugar did. Better to eat a Snickers bar. What set his discovery apart was that he decided to look into the composition of wheat itself and discovered that, after years of hybridization to create greater yields, wheat has changed and is now so stuffed with gluten that it is harmful to a large number of the population eating it. The tall graceful wheat of old is now a short stubby thing so that it can hold up the overloaded grain head. To test this discovery, he goes in search of our ancestral grains and finds a woman at the Heritage Wheat Foundation who gives him Einkorn grain which he then grinds and makes into bread and compares with bread he makes from store bought whole grain flour. Testing his blood sugars after ingesting 4...
